Northwest Safety Clean (NWSC) is a local Portland company that specializes in the cleaning and repair of firefighter turnouts (that gear you see a firefighter all suited-up in when they show up to a blazing fire). Turnout cleaning and repair is not only critical to a firefighter’s health (getting rid of carcinogens and neutralizing cancer causing agents), but is critical to a firefighter’s safety as well. If the wrong soap is used or repairs are not maintained, our firefighters are left susceptible to injury due to carcinogens or high heat.
On this project we really wanted to get across the importance of having the right cleaning equipment, high quality materials and customized repair services.
A firefighter’s job is not easy work, and neither is the maintenance of their equipment. With that in mind, we wanted to make sure we captured the raw nature of this type of work by not diluting the real and gritty aspect of this industry.
In addition to capturing environmental working images, we set up a product photography session to showcase the very specific soaps and cleaning agents used for firefighters.
